Music Portfolio
I have made my own trancy trip-hop style music using my turntables, keyboard, my brother's drums, and my computer. Such software as Sound Forge XP and Acid were used. But I didn't work with the shortcut methods many other people use. I created all the beats the long and hard (but fun for me) way using my own knowledge of rhythm and timing, and built the songs up bit by bit, kind of like moulding and shaping clay until a structure emerges.
The songs are very beat driven, and feature a lot of scratching, as well as string (orchestra) samples. I'm very inspired by the music of Hybrid, Portishead, DJ Shadow, Roni Size Reprazent, and Japanese film score composer Joe Hisaishi (Spirited Away, Porco Rosso). These influences are no doubt evident in these songs.
